|Our client, a small retail financial services organisation, has asked us to help them recruit a new Head of Compliance to be based in their central Edinburgh head office.
From day one, you will be asked to play a key leadership role in a small, experienced combined Risk and Compliance team, reporting directly into the Finance Director. The selected individual will work closely with the Executives and Board to ensure that the organisation continues to comply with all of its obligations under FSMA 2000 and all other relevant regulatory requirements.

This is an important appointment for our client and would require the individual to take on SMF16 responsibilities. To that end the following requirements are essential for anyone interested in applying for the role:
Degree level qualification or equivalent
A minimum of 7 years financial services sector experience ideally with a retail banking and mortgage/lending background
Worked at a manager/senior level within a risk and compliance function with a particular experience in conduct regulation, compliance monitoring, policy development/ implementation and other related regulatory areas
Experience in or aptitude to developing constructive relationships with senior management around technical matters and issues as well as good judgement and decision making
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven analytical and problem solving capabilities
An appreciation of organisational culture and how it influences performance and decision making.
